Sniedze Prauliņa – a musician with a filigree sophisticated voice grew up in a music-rich family. Her father - composer and musician Uģis Prauliņš, but her mother - composer, organist and singer Silvija Silava. She studied music at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and for her master’s degree she studied and played the flute. She has also improved her kwnowledge at the Maastricht Conservatory of Music in the Netherlands.
The soloist has sung in the vocal ensemble "Anima Solla" and in the choirs "Ave Sol" and "Mūza". On March 12, 2014, together with the choir "Mūza", they released an album "INTRO", in which non-traditional choral songs composed by Sniedze Prauliņa can be heard.
On April 8, 2017, the singer's first solo album "Incrustation" was released, which was nominated for the 2017 Austra Award.
Together with musician Edgars Šubrovskis and the multi-instrumentalist Oskars Jansons, the group “Juuk” was created. They perform songs in the folk music genre and country music traditions of the USA and Western Europe. In 2019, "Juuk" released their first album "Indulgence Traders".
At the festival Porta 2020 Sniedze Prauliņa will perform together with the Estonian duo Puuluup, combining the most sonorous traditions of both nations, they will reveal melodic-inspired collaboration works that will celebrate this musical encounter.
