Masterclass - Contemporary kantele playing styles and acoustic effects
Maija Kauhanen has developed new kantele playing styles copying other string instruments, for example playing rhythmical accompaniment and polyrhythms. At the masterclass, Maija will show different ways to make acoustic effects using for blu tack, violin bow, metal chains and aluminum folium for instance. She will demostrate how to play and practise polyrhythms combining kantele and percussion, hands, feet and all these different playing techniques.
