Masterclass - Talharpa
Talharpa is a bowed lyre, popular in Northern Europe since the early middle ages and was played on Western Estonian islands until the beginning of 20th century. Marko and Ramo will give an overview of the instrument’s history and playing technique and introduce you to some traditional talharpa songs as well as modern variations. We’ll also take along a few extra instruments for you to try. We can also talk about today’s growing talharpa scene in Estonia and Finland, if you are interested.
